The inclusion of floral and plant references in my painting happened by chance many years ago. After a botanical painting group had lost their tutor at short notice, I agreed to provide teaching cover and it became necessary to prepare many step-by-step demonstrations. These superseded my studio projects of the time. Eventually botanical imagery crept into my personal compositions and the whole experience inspired a more serious pursuit of a teaching career.
