Recent Works
2013--2015
After a five year hiatus, a reclamation of my late father's studio and increasing freedom from summer teaching commitments meant that painting could resume in 2013. The most recent pieces maintain the earlier use of botanical subject matter, with the addition of rather oblique references to the Japanese design aesthetic regarding nature's elements. There is an attempt to cohere observational study of form with this type of pared-down flat compositional design. The result is decorative images somewhat removed from straight-forward botanical illustration venturing a subtle commentary on natural phenomena.
All work is for sale. Please feel free to contact me regarding any pieces illustrated on this site. I am also happy to discuss commission.
